Who We Are

The farming partnership was established in 1989 by David and Jane Homer when they moved to Wiltshire with the herd of cows David grew up with from Warwickshire. 

The family partnership currently consists of David, Jane, sons Chris and Geoff. 

Chris and Geoff have a broad range of agricultural experience between them, gained over the years via education, travel and discussion groups. The collective experience they have has enabled them to help improve and expand the business to what it is today. Together they are responsible for the overall day to day running of the livestock, arable and people management. 

David and Jane’s daughter Anne joined the working team in 2012 after working and travelling abroad. She is responsible for the farm administration. 

Over 30 years the family has grown the business from 247 acres with 120 cows to 2600 acres with 850 cows over 3 dairy farms and arable. 

In recent years there have been lots of improvements to the infrastructure of the farms including; milking parlours and cow housing for the winter months, and updating manure storage and handling systems. All of which have helped towards creating nicer working environments and ensuring the running of an even more sustainable and efficient business.

  • Maximising crop rotations to improve soil organic matter and minimising pesticide usage

 

Environment:

  • Participating in environmental stewardship schemes which provide habitats for farmland birds, pollinators and other indigenous Flora & Fauna
  • Looking after established habitats with field boundary and hedgerow management
  • The use of precision farming techniques using GPS guidance to ensure fertiliser, manure and pesticide applications are accurate and only applied where needed
  • Working together with our suppliers and customers to become Net Zero by 2040
